Title: Working out doors in a ward *rough*
Post by: Trekkie101 on Jan 13, 2022, 09:48 PM
Using the NRS figures from 2020, take population by ward, then take from NRS figures average household size of 2.15.

Divide the population per ward by 2.15 and thats the rough number of doors.

A worked Example:

Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay have 17,445 in column D

https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/statistics-and-data/statistics/statistics-by-theme/population/population-estimates/2011-based-special-area-population-estimates/electoral-ward-population-estimates

Divided by 2.15 provided by

https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/files/statistics/household-estimates/2018/house-est-18-publication.pdf

Gives me 8118

Plus it's a national average that will be weighted a lot by Glasgow / Edinburgh flats.

Useful link and interesting! We have 10,499 but council laison guy told me we had 3000 households when I was in SNP. I wonder if due to disprportionate number of retirees here.

A lot can vary it, but once we have electoral registers it's easy to pin down.
